Vanshika Chaturvedi

"I didn't choose Karate, Karate chose me," says Vanshika Chaturvedi, an excellent martial artist who started her journey in the sport at a very tender age and has excelled in every tournament she has participated in so far. Not only at national levels, Vanshika has proved herself in the international arena as well and has won several gold and silver medals for four consecutive years. Vanshika was just eight years old when her mother took her Karate classes. Like every other child, she too was not interested in karate classes in the beginning. However, gradually she started growing interest in the subject and recognising her talent, she started participating in different tournaments across the country at the behest of her coach. Her first international tournament was in Singapore where she was able to secure the second position. This was followed by the Commonwealth Championships held in South Africa where she won the bronze medal. In 2019, she went to Italy for the Unified World Championships where she won two gold, a silver and a bronze medal. The Std 12 student from Sri Sri Academy wishes to take up sports management for higher education and wishes to take up a career in Sports Administration. She has also participated in the CISCE regional games and has secured the third position twice and has also been the district champion for the years 2017 and 2018.
