Soumee Bhaumik

Soumee Bhaumik, a student of class 12 of the Garden High School has exemplary achievements with an impressive portfolio in the field of Literature. Her literary works like poems have been published in the International Refereed Journal Writers Editors Critics, ISSN 2231-198X and the International Journal on Multicultural Literature, ISSN 2231-6248. She has published in a peer-reviewed journal titled International Journal of English Literature, Language and Skills. In creative writing, she won the M.P. Birla Smarak Kosh Award (English, Senior Category) in 2023. Passionate about MUN, she received the High Commendation Award as part of the EU Committee, at the Don Bosco School MUN, in 2020. She is an ASSET Talent Search scholar, holds a Level 5 Young Artiste certification, and is a skilled table tennis player as well. “For me finding creativity is in finding beauty in the smallest of things. To give wings to the emotions of people.” With her zeal to write, she has been awarded the Gold Medal in Creative Writing at the Fr. George Hess Literary Competition, 2022 in the ASISC West Bengal and North-East States Region. Beyond being a writer, Soumee’s connection with music runs deep. She has been certified as a Level 5 Young Artiste in SIFF Young Artiste 2020 and bagged several prizes in Inter-House Music Competitions in her school. She loves to play Table Tennis. She was placed First in the Garden High School Inter-House Table Tennis Competition in 2016 and Second in 2017.
