“After the success of Bangalore and Mumbai, we were looking for the next right spot for the brand. When we came across this property (the French Motor building) in Calcutta, we loved the volume and high ceilings and knew this would be the perfect place to set up Taki Taki and create the vibe it deserves. Also, this is a very unique offering which we believe Calcutta hasn’t seen before and will love,” said Dawn Thomas,
CEO and director of VRO Hospitality, the mother brand.

“One of the main reasons we decided to get VRO brands to Calcutta was Taki Taki. Our first night at Taki Taki Mumbai blew our mind away and we decided we had to get this brand to our city. Taki Taki is a unique luxury brand that will offer the best Japanese culinary experience to the people of this city,” said local partners Rajdeep Chakraborty, Anshuman Singh and Sumit Agarwal. t2 gets you the first look of Taki Taki.

Chef Bobby from the Philippines who has curated delectable menus for some of the most talked-about Asian diners worldwide, is the man at the helm of culinary affairs at Taki Taki. He said, “Calcutta has a unique palate which stands out from the culinary scenes in other cities of India. Here people want to try and taste different and new food. Matching their taste buds, I will try to serve authentic and modern Japanese cuisine with a traditional touch here at Taki Taki, Calcutta. My favourite from the menu is definitely the wide range of artisanal rolls and the Moon Fun noodles.”
