Speaking to My Kolkata, Prabhu underlined the importance of knowing one’s craft well. “A mystery author needs to know her craft well as the mystery needs to end well. I believe as an author I should be able to trick the reader into believing that my belief is correct, which however turns out to be wrong keeping the reader happy. So there is a constant play between me and my imaginary reader. Before writing any book, I engage in detailed research and while I am researching I feel that this book is destined to be born and the same happened with The Legend of the Snow Queen.”

Collaborating with well-known publishing houses like Jaico Publishing House (India) and Readomania, Prabhu continues to enrich the world of thriller fiction with her contributions. Her dedication to the craft and her ability to craft narratives that resonate with readers make her stand out in the world of literature.

“I focus on writing on destination thrillers, stressing on Kolkata, I feel the energy in the city is a blend of thrills and erudition. There is so much history and culture in every corner that I feel Kolkata is perfect for a thriller. I wish to make Kolkata a destination thriller one day hopefully” Prabhu said.

Roychowdhury, in her conversation with Prabhu, unravelled the intricacies of The Legend of the Snow Queen and delved into the creative process behind its inception.

“Being an only child I have always been a reader and I read every book that came my way. I loved Enid Blyton and the world it created for us. Bengal has a very rich collection of thrillers itself. We have grown up on thrillers, at times it even makes me stay awake the whole night and read. While I was reading The Legend of the Snow Queen, I felt like I was revisiting my childhood where I would immerse myself in a book, so I wanted the same magic to come to Kolkata,” she said.

For book lovers from the City of Joy, this event was beyond a mere book launch; it was a gateway to creativity, imagination and the captivating allure of storytelling. Prabhu’s work invites readers to delve deeper into the enchanting world of literature, embarking on a journey of exploration and discovery.
