Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez plays a hopeless romantic dealing with accusations of being a sex addict and a liar as she navigates her tumultuous life in the trailer of Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming romance drama film This Is Me…Now: A Love Story.

The two-minutes-twenty-seven-second-long video, dropped by the streamer on Wednesday, also features Jennifer’s husband, actor Ben Affleck. Touted as ‘a genre-bending Amazon original that showcases the singer's journey to love through her own eyes’, the feature seems to shed light on Jennifer’s own love life, her multiple marriages, engagements and affairs in between.

"I have learnt the hard way...not all love stories have a happy ending,” says Jennifer’s character in the trailer, as she hurls a photograph into fire. The 54-year-old is seen engaging in an array of activities — from making love on a glass floor to attending a therapy session, and working in a factory to reveling at her own wedding which her friends predict won’t last.

While her character initially refutes her friends’ absurd notion that she might be a sex addict, she is later seen attending a session meant just for such addicts wherein she confesses that she has never been able to sleep peacefully ever since she was a child.

Although Jennifer's character aspires to be a woman in love, she paradoxically distances herself from the man who makes her feel at home.

The official synopsis of Dave Meyers's directorial, dropping in tandem with Jennifer's first studio album in a decade, states, "This Is Me…Now: A Love Story is like nothing you've ever seen from Jennifer Lopez. Jennifer has crafted a narrative-driven cinematic odyssey, rich in mythological storytelling and personal healing."

The eponymous title track, sung by Jennifer, which serves as the background score, adds to the narrative.

Also featuring Fat Joe, Hough, Trevor Noah, Kim Petras, Post Malone, Keke Palmer, Sofia Vergara, Jenifer Lewis, Jay Shetty and Neil deGrasse Tyson, the film is co-written by Jennifer and Matt Walton.

Jennifer also shared the trailer on her Instagram with a caption referencing her third studio album This Is Me... Then, released in late 2002, which she had dedicated to Ben.

“I have not been this nervous, excited, scared and thrilled to share something with you in years. The story of the journey from This Is Me…Then to This Is Me…Now is the most personal thing I’ve ever done. The musical experience continues February 16 when This Is Me…Now the album drops and This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, my new Amazon Original, is streaming on Prime Video,” wrote the All I Have singer.

This Is Me…Now: A Love Story, together with Jennifer’s album of the same name, is slated to release on February 16.

The trailer comes on the heels of the singer's latest single, Can't Get Enough, which debuted on January 12.
