Have you ever felt like you're working hard and putting in a lot of effort, but no one in your team seems to notice or appreciate it? It can be frustrating and demotivating, especially when you see other colleagues getting recognised for their work and not you.

But don't worry, as a career coach I have helped hundreds of young professionals deal with this. There are things you can do to get noticed and receive the recognition and motivation you deserve at work:

1. Keep track of your accomplishments: It's important to keep track of your accomplishments and the value you bring to your team and the company. This will not only help you when the time comes for performance reviews and promotions, but it will also give you a sense of pride and motivation. Keep a list of your accomplishments and the impact they had on the company or your team on a weekly basis. Share this list with your manager or supervisor during your performance review or when discussing your career goals.

2. Speak up and share your ideas: Don't be afraid to speak up and share your ideas. You might have a great idea that could improve a process, increase efficiency, or save the company money. When you share your ideas, you show that you're engaged and invested in the company's success. Your ideas might not always be implemented, but you'll be recognised for your initiative and creativity.

3. Take on new challenges: Volunteering for new projects or taking on additional responsibilities, such as conducting a team training, shows that you're motivated and willing to learn. It also demonstrates your willingness to go above and beyond your job description. When you take on new challenges, you'll learn new skills and gain experience, which will make you more valuable to the company.

4. Network and build relationships: Building relationships with your colleagues and managers is important to get noticed and receive recognition. Attend company events and participate in social activities. Join professional organisations and attend industry events. When you build relationships with people inside and outside of your place of work, you increase your visibility and create opportunities for recognition and advancement.

5. Ask for feedback: Don't be afraid to ask for feedback from your manager or colleagues. This shows that you're open to constructive criticism and willing to improve. When you receive feedback, take it seriously and use it to improve your skills and performance.

In conclusion, getting noticed and receiving recognition and motivation at work is important for your career development and job satisfaction. By taking these steps you can increase your visibility and demonstrate your value to the company. Take action today and start getting the recognition and motivation you deserve!
