The run will have four categories — 5km, 10km 21.1km and a 16-mile race. There will also be a non-competitive 3km run for students of the Institute of Engineering and Management and the University of Engineering and Management, the organisers said.

“The 21.1km run, the longest, will go through Ring Road, New Town, Biswa Bangla gate, Shapoorji and back to the starting point along the same route,” said Sanghamitra Poddar, one of the organisers.

The male and female winners in each category will get Rs 1.6 lakh. Most of the Rs 14 lakh budget for the race is contributed by the IEM-UEM group, Poddar said.
