Former Calcutta mayor Sovan Chatterjee, who had defected to the BJP from the Trinamul Congress, said on Tuesday that he was ready to take on his former mentor Mamata Banerjee in an electoral battle, in which he was confident of victory.
Chatterjee visited the Bengal BJP office on Tuesday with his associate Baishakhi Banerjee. The duo were greeted by state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh.
“My party has changed, I have not. I am still a loyal worker of the party I am in. I am ready to follow whatever instructions I am given by my party. I am ready to contest polls against Mamata Banerjee, too, and confident of winning,” said Chatterjee.
