Metro Railway has acknowledged that a St Xavier’s College student’s claim that her shoulders had got stuck between the doors of a train was true but denied that the train had started moving.

Metro Railway officials had said that footage of CCTV cameras at the station did not show any such incident.

On Thursday, however, the Metro authorities admitted that a passenger was stuck between the closing doors of a train for seven seconds at Park Street station.

Metro officials gave a second-by-second account of what had happened at the door. The account showed that the doors opened at 22 seconds past 4.28 pm. The door detected an “obstruction” 40 seconds past 4.28pm. The other doors of the train closed but the one with “obstruction” closed seven seconds later after the “obstruction” was removed.

“The passenger was stuck for a few seconds. But the train never moved like that,” an official said on Thursday.

Aatreyee said she has been called to the Metro headquarters on Friday. “An official called me up and enquired how I was. He added that CCTV footage showed I was stuck in the door and called me to Metro Bhavan at 2pm tomorrow,” she said.
