New Town now has one more post office. The department of posts opened a delivery post office in Action Area I of New Town last Friday. It is called New Town Action Area-I post office and is located at AD 6A. It will function with the postal index number code 700163.
It was inaugurated by Arundhaty Ghosh on her last day as the chief postmaster general, West Bengal circle, in presence of J. Charukesi, postmaster general, Calcutta.
The New Town Action Area-I post office will provide mail delivery service in the following areas:
Krishnapur -Tarulia House no. 1-150.
Gouranganagar -Ramkrishna Pally, Rohra Heights.
New Town- AA Block, AC Block, Rail Vihar, DLF IT Park, Anamikha, Coal Bhavan, AD Block , Greenwood Park, Utsa, New Town bus stand, Eastern High, Eastern Nook, AE Block, BA Block, Isro , DLF Galleria, BB Block, BF Block.
The other post offices in New Town are in Action Area III, housed in Karigari Bhavan, in Action Area II, located in Utility Building near Akankha More, and opposite Techno India College, near Visarjan Ghat.
