Officials have said East Burdwan is the first district in Bengal to launch a mobile application to inspect and monitor various district projects.

“Our officials move to various blocks and areas every Wednesday as part of our reach-out programme. This mobile application will help them send us real-time image and information about every ongoing project. We can monitor the development any time and there will be a permanent database of progress of several projects,” Bharti said.

District magistrates and other officials have been extensively touring rural areas in Bengal to know and address problems of the masses.

The exercise was launched in June at the directive of chief minister Mamata Banerjee following general election results.
