It has been asked to submit daily reports to the offices of the chief minister and the chief secretary, a release said.

The members are commissioner and secretary, land resources department, Kikheto Sema, inspector-general of police (training and border) Liremo Lotha, additional director, health and family welfare, Dr Avono Kire, and director, food and civil supplies, Asangla Imti.

In another order on Thursday, Toy directed all deputy commissioners to extend all possible assistance to students stranded in hostels and rented accommodations owing to the nationwide lockdown.

He said these students are reportedly facing problems in procuring rations owing to financial constraints.

Toy also asked the deputy commissioners to furnish the list of students assisted to the principal director, school education, Shanavas S. He can be contacted at 8732893116.

PCC appeal: The Nagaland PCC on Thursday appealed to the council of ministers, legislators and MPs to donate a year’s local area development fund towards the Chief Minister’s Fund to fight the novel coronavirus.

In a release, PCC president K. Therie also urged bureaucrats, heads of departments, contractors, officers, businessmen and tax collectors or whosever have benefited from the government and public during the last 17 years to come forward to help.

He said the others can contribute and donate whatever is possible to stranded people and fight back Covid-19 socially. They can contribute rice, vegetables and humanitarian services, among others, he said. He said it was heartening to note that civil societies and individuals are coming forward to join this endeavour.

Therie said he believed that when chief minister Neiphiu Rio appealed for donation, he meant all individuals who have benefited under his government. “The budget belongs to them as it no longer percolates down to the districts and divisions,” he said.

“We must fight together. It is not a personal fight. It is for protection of all,” he added.
