Innovation labs for 11 schools in Barak Valley

The mission is a flagship initiative of the Niti Aayog to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the country

The Niti Aayog has selected 11 schools in Barak Valley’s Hailakandi district to develop Atal Tinkering Labs under the Atal Innovation Mission.

The mission is a flagship initiative of the Niti Aayog to promote innovation and entrepreneurship across the country, based on a detailed study of innovation and entrepreneurial needs of India.

Under this mission, Atal Tinkering Labs will be set up in 6,038 schools across the country to promote a creative and innovative mindset among students.

Hailakandi inspector of schools, Rajiv Kumar Jha, said on Sunday that the selected schools are Golap Academy, Hailakandi Junior Science College, Irfan Ali Memorial High School, JK Memorial English School, Janaki Charan HS School, Kanchanpur Medha Vikash Vidyalaya, Modern Public High School, Nimaichandpur HS School, Nityanandapur High School, Panchgram Town High School and Premlochan HS School.

The mission will work as an umbrella innovation organisation in alignment of innovation policies between central, state and sectoral innovation schemes, providing incentives for the establishment and promotion of an ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship at various levels — higher secondary schools, science, engineering and higher academic institutions, micro, small and medium enterprises industry, corporate and NGO levels.
