The corporation chairman, Deepak Majumder, said on Sunday, “The ride is arranged by TRTC every year. This year the service will begin from Saptami till Dashami.”

Majumder added that an eight-seater chopper was allotted for the ride and 16 tickets will be issued every day from the Krishnanagar bus depot from Monday.

Rakesh Roy, who took the ride last year, said the experience of flying over the city and looking at the tourist spots of the city was thrilling.

Tripura director-general of police Akhil Kumar Shukla said they will step up security across the state where more than 2,000 Puja pandals have been set up.

“Security has been beefed up across the state. Police personnel and paramilitary forces have been deployed. We have kept the paramilitary forces in readiness to deal with emergencies,” the DGP said.

He added that the installation of CCTV cameras is under way across the state.
