An NGO has organised Brahmaputra Beach Carnival festival and the profits will go to the poor and needy

The first Brahmaputra Beach Carnival, organised for three days on the riverbank at Bharalumukh here from Friday, has got a slew of events for everyone, young or old.

An NGO, Adhyayan Education Foundation, has organised the festival and the profits will go to the poor and needy, organising member Jyotish Das said.

There will be music, dance, rides and activities, which will appeal to a large cross-section of people.

A show by local rappers in Assamese and a dance competition of different styles like modern and hip-hop has also been organised by HPYE Northeast. Then there is joggling, paintball, ATV and jeep rides, paragliding and other thrilling adventure sports for those seeking an adrenaline rush.

A dance competition with more than 30 participants and the rap show are the highlights of the opening day. A lantern festival will be the main attraction on Saturday, with hundreds of paper lanterns to be lit and sent afloat in the evening.

Bollywood singer Ritviz will be the main draw on the concluding day on Sunday.
