Suman’s shocked friends and relatives thronged the hospital after they came to know about the murder.

Police sources said the initial investigation points to the murder being a result of illegal cricket betting.

“In our initial investigation we have learnt that the reason of murder was an outcome of illegal betting during the recent India-Australia match,” an Ulidih police station official said under cover of anonymity. “Out investigation is on and we will soon arrest the culprits involved in the crime.”

Family sources said that after his graduation from Jamshedpur Worker's College in Mango, Suman used to assist his father in their fabrication and iron grill business.

'He used to manage the day-to -day affairs of the shop located at the ground floor of the building where they used to stay,” said a relative.

Neighbours said Suman was soft-spoken and helpful. He has a younger brother, who is in college.
