The management of Ghorabandha-based Sri Sainath Devasthanam, modelled on Maharashtra’s famous Shirdi Sai Baba Temple, has gifted the city another shrine.

A Shiva temple over 5,000sqft area was inaugurated on Sunday.

“The new Shiva temple is one of its kind in the state where the shivling is made of sphatik (crystal). It will be a centre of attraction for tourists and devotees. The three day pran pratistha rituals had commence from June 21,” temple promoter Sai Parivar Vishwa Seva Sansthan trustee Anup Ranjan said.

The construction of the temple had begun in 2015.

Ranjan said all the idols of gods and goddess were made in Jaipur and transported to the Gorabandha temple at Telco.

The inauguration of the Shiva was followed by a grand feast (or Mahaprasad).

According to Ranjan, special arrangements will be made for the safety and security of the tourists and devotees at the temple. He said the temple management committee would also provide wheel chairs to the physically disabled.

“Provisions for first-aid and ambulance service will also be made,” he added.

The management committee also has plans to beautify the sprawling temple complex.
