A man was found dead in a pool of blood on the premises of an apartment building here in Pandra on Wednesday.

Saurabh Agrawal, 35, was found dead at the Astha Residency complex, his sprawled posture suggesting he jumped off the eighth floor of the building where his uncle lives.

Saurabh lived at Metro Gali at Upper Bazaar under Kotwali police station area. He had celebrated his marriage anniversary two days ago.

Involved in the doorstep delivery business, it is not clear if he was in financial distress. His kin denied any family or marital dispute.

“His relatives claim he accidently fell off the balcony. But we suspect that he committed suicide over a family dispute. He died on the spot. The body was taken to the RIMS for an autopsy. Family members will be called for questioning. We will scan CCTV footage and his phone for clues,” said an official at the Pandra police outpost, adding they had filed a case of unnatural death.

If it is suicide, this is the seventh case in Ranchi in two weeks. Among the recent cases, on Tuesday, homemaker Sandhya Devi of Vikasnagar, Pandra, was found hanging. On May 9, Kali Toppo, 60, was again found hanging at Hotwar Machuatoli. On May 8, a girl in Morabadi took her life over depression and on May 1, a youth of Bandhgadi killed himself over his joblessness. On April 30, a girl of Ojha Market, Pandra, killed herself after being cheated in love, and a labourer in Bariatu committed suicide when his wife eloped.
