Patna: Tejashwi Prasad Yadav taunted chief minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday with a cartoon image of rats talking about leaving Bihar for being blamed for all that ails the government.

"Dams worth Rs 100 crore were damaged, 9 lakh litres of liquor disappeared, medicines worth crores were misplaced and foodgrains of poor people disappeared. Every time rats were blamed for corruption in Nitish Kumar's regime. Now the rats are fed up with the baseless allegations and have decided to migrate. Who will Nitishji blame now?" Tejashwi captioned the image in Hindi.

Bihar police once said rats had consumed thousands of litres of confiscated alcohol. Another time, water resources minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh, a.k.a. Lalan Singh, said rats had damaged river embankments for which floods occurred, becoming a laughing stock for the Opposition.

In the cartoon that Tejashwi tweeted, one rat tells his family - carrying luggage - that it was best to leave Bihar for Nitish had started blaming them for every problem. Soon, they would be blamed for crimes.

Leader of opposition Tejashwi had raised the issue of rats damaging dams and drinking liquor in the Assembly too.

At that time, LJP president Ram Vilas Paswan too took a dig at the Nitish government.

Nitish was then not part of the NDA and Paswan said the chief minister had become a subject of joke as he was making mockery of prohibition.

The JDU slammed Tejashwi for his tweet and asked him to repent for scams that surfaced in the time of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi's governments.

"The achievement of Tejashwi's parents is jungle raj (lawlessness) and corruption as the family gulped fodder worth Rs 950 crore. Then came the bitumen scandal of crores of rupees. So much was the fear during his father's regime that the people of Bihar migrated to other states. Tejashwi should apologise and repent for this parents' act," JDU chief spokesperson Sanjay Singh said.

Sanjay also accused Tejashwi of not taking care of his ailing father and holidaying in Bali, Indonesia.

"Laluji is not well, there is anarchy in the family and party. Tejashwi does not even visit his constituency and is living in some other world now. Lalu ji must be repenting that he chose the wrong person as his successor. His dreams have been shattered. Tejashwi has failed to become a good son and a good leader. Everyone has lost hope because Tejashwi has become selfish," said Sanjay.
