Legendary footballer and coach PK Banerjee, who is on full ventilator support, received blood transfusion on Wednesday. “He is on ventilator support in the intensive care unit for more than two weeks now. Today he has received blood transfusion. He remains on haemodialysis support and is still in a very critical condition,” a statement from the super-specialty hospital said.

Former India batting coach Sanjay Bangar has decided against taking the Bangladesh Cricket Board’s offer to become its Test team’s consultant, citing personal and professional commitments. Bangar was offered to coach the Bangladesh batsmen in red-ball cricket eight weeks ago but he could not take up the offer as he signed a two-year contract with Star Sports in the interim.

ISL side Odisha FC and coach Josep Gombau on Wednesday decided to amicably part ways due to the Spaniard’s familial obligations. Gombau had joined Odisha FC (earlier Delhi Dynamos) ahead of the fifth season in 2018.

Janani were on Wednesday inducted into the ICC Development panel of Umpires. “Mumbai Cricket Association congratulates Vrinda Rathi (Mumbai Cricket Association) and Janani N (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) on being inducted in the ICC Development Panel of Umpires,” tweeted the Mumbai Cricket Association.

The Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) stewards have decided to cancel the remainder of the Calcutta winter season 2019-20. The Club’s stewards have taken the decision in support of measures taken by the state government to contain the spread of coronavirus.
