The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is mulling setting up two new dressing rooms at Eden Gardens in view of the 2026 T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be held in India.

The two dressing rooms, if the plan materialises, could be set up opposite the BC Roy Club House, sources in the CAB said.

The state association is contemplating such a move in case the Eden is allotted back-to-back games on a day during the 2026 T20 Cup.

“It’s quite obvious that the Eden will be allotted a few games of the 2026 showpiece event out of which, some will be marquee clashes. At the same time, it may so happen that the venue is allotted back-to-back matches, which was the case during the 2016 World T20 (when the Eden hosted both women’s and men’s final of the competition on April 3).

“In order to make sure things run smoothly if such a situation happens again, discussions regarding the two new dressing rooms/pavilions are on although these are
still early days,” one CAB insider said.

This, too, is a part of the renovation plan for the Eden, whose seating capacity is expected to increase again.

Work for the venue’s overhaul will get underway following this year’s IPL, which is likely to begin from March 22, as the CAB aims to complete everything by December 2025.
