Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians are both powerful teams, but not without flaws. While the Titans’ batting of late has looked a little suspect, the same is the story of Mumbai’s bowling. Who makes better use of the other’s weakness will decide the outcome of the match in Ahmedabad on Tuesday.

The Titans will be happy having pulled off a miraculous win in their last match as Lucknow Super Giants inexplicably imploded in what was an easy chase. But the win, or the manner in which it came, will hardly infuse confidence in Hardik Pandya’s team. Given the fact that they have lost two of the three home games they have played this season, Pandya has enough reasons to be worried.

Wriddhiman Saha and Shubman Gill have had a few good performances individually, but they haven’t clicked as an opening pair for the Titans. They will also be aware of the fact that their batting looks a little rudderless in the middle overs despite having captain Pandya and David Miller in the middle order. Tuesday will be a good day to overcome this defect as Mumbai haven’t bowled consistently well.

With the return of Jofra Archer, Mumbai’s bowling should have been sharper, but the England speedster didn’t look as menacing as he usually is in the last game. Wily veteran spinner Piyush Chawla, however, has been a revelation for Mumbai this season, and young tweaker Hrthik Shokeen has complemented him well.

Mumbai’s batting muscle, however, looks in great shape. Captain Rohit Sharma is in decent touch, and so is his opening partner Ishan Kishan. Cameron Green is proving to be a priceless asset with the bat, while the thunder is back in ‘SKY’, Suryakumar Yadav.

The Titans though will have faith in Mohammed Shami and Rashid Khan to rein in Mumbai’s strong batters. The two have taken 22 wickets so far.
