Gujarat Titans will look to maintain their clean record at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad when they meet Kings XI Punjab on Thursday. The Shubman
Gill-led franchise’s only loss in three games has come away from home — against CSK in Chennai.

Azmatullah Omarzai has swung the new ball in the Powerplay while Mohit Sharma has often been un-hittable at the death.

Their bowling is strong with Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad and R. Sai Kishore in the XI, besides Omarzai.

On Wednesday, Mohit credited the atmosphere in the dressing room for his success.

“It depends on how your fellow players see you after a bad performance,” Mohit said. “That decides whether you feel good or bad. In this team, over the last three years, if you have a bad performance, we don’t talk about it. That maintains confidence levels.”

In last year’s final against CSK, Mohit almost defended 13 runs before conceding a six and a four off the last two deliveries. It left him heartbroken.

“Not just that last over, I learnt a lot throughout the IPL last year,” he said. “If you talk about just those two deliveries, I can say this — when you are under pressure, your subconscious mind dominates. That shouldn’t happen and you have to follow your instinct. I learnt that aspect from those two balls.”

But Gill’s form has been in focus. He has had scores of 31, 8, and 36 so far.

The Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings started their season with a win against Delhi Capitals at home but suffered back-to-back losses in Bengaluru and Lucknow. Bowling has been their problem. Harshal Patel, who was bought for Rs 11.75 crore, has leaked runs along with the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Rahul Chahar.
