Mohun Bagan will like to continue with their unbeaten run when they play Neroca FC in an I-League match in Imphal on Thursday.

Mohun Bagan haven’t lost their last six matches and are currently on top of the table with 17 points from eight matches. They are fresh from the Derby win over East Bengal and will definitely start as favourites against Neroca FC.

Bagan head coach Kibu Vicuna though sounded cautious. “The Derby is behind us now. We are very happy with the result and the three points but we have been thinking about Thursday’s game since Monday. We know it is going to be very difficult,” Vicuna said at the pre-match media conference.

A win for Neroca would see them break into the top three, which would be an outstanding turnaround given that they were in the relegation spot at the turn of the year.

Noble gesture

Gokulam Kerala FC will hand over the entire ticket revenue from their next I-League match against Churchill Brothers on January 26 to the family of the late footballer Radhakrishnan Dhanarajan.

Dhanarajan, who played for Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting, had a tragic death while playing seven-a-side match in Malappuram last month.
