It has been a bonanza for Rolex aficionados this year. Last week, the watch company announced no less than 16 new models for 2021. And while they are largely cosmetic changes to existing watches, that is not exactly something to be discounted entirely.

Last year Rolex added a burst of colour to its line-up with the Oyster Perpetual line coming with orange, yellow, light blue and pink dials in addition to the navy, black and silver ones.

This year, it has gone one step further and added a palm and a fluted-finish dial to the Oyster Perpetual 36mm range. The palm dials are available in olive green, silver and golden finishes. As 36mm has turned out to be a unisex watch size, the idea could be to appeal to both men and women looking to go for a watch that size.

Possibly appealing to same women buyers are the the diamond set Oyster Perpetual Day-Date 36 models. They feature hour markers and alligator leather straps in matching colours: coral on the 18 ct yellow gold model, turquoise on the 18 ct white gold version and burgundy on the watch in 18 ct Everose gold. The new Oyster Perpetual Lady-Datejust, set with 1,089 diamonds on the middle case, bezel, dial and President bracelet, is essentially a piece of jewellery.

The new versions of the Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona are in 18 ct yellow, white or Everose gold and all of them feature meteorite dials.
