A keyboard with an iPhone? Hang on, BlackBerry vibes once again? Clicks Technology has come up with a keyboard that attaches to the iPhone 14 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. And it’s being delivered to India.
“We use keyboards on our desktops, laptops and tablets every day — so it’s kind of odd that we abandoned physical buttons on the smartphone,” said Michael Fisher, co-founder of Clicks Technology. You may know Fisher from his tech video on YouTube.
Clicks Creator Keyboard is compact and attaches to the phone. There is no separate battery, so it connects via Lightning port or USB-C, depending on the iPhone model. It reportedly has little effect on the phone’s overall battery life. That’s not all, the battery on the phone can be charged even when the case is in place.
Fisher and his team appear to have thought out the device design very well. Clicks frees up screen space that would otherwise go to displaying the virtual keyboard. There are even shortcuts such as Cmd + H to go to the home screen, Cmd + Space to launch Search, and tapping Space to scroll through web pages. There is a backlight for use in dark environments, plus it’s claimed to come off easily when not needed.
The keyboard reminds one of Ryan Seacrest’s Typo Keyboard from a decade ago. Typo debuted in December 2013 with a Bluetooth-enabled tactile QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard sat at the bottom of the case and didn’t cover any part of the screen or any part of the device at all other than its back and edges.
Clicks Creator Keyboard is priced upwards of Rs $139 and there is a $20 shipping for India.
