‘Barbenheimer’ reaches a hilarious crescendo at the 2024 Oscars
Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling had a hilarious mock-feud at the ceremony

Two films have dominated pop culture over the past year. The Barbenheimer feud was a cultural milestone for cinephiles in 2023. And naturally, shots were fired at the 96th Academy Awards, with both Greta Gerwig’s Barbie and Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer expected to win big. It is no coincidence then, that Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling, stars from both films, ended up as presenters together. The duo addressed the elephant in the room, leading to some priceless moments. While Gosling remarked that Oppenheimer rode Barbie’s success wave, Blunt shut him up for ‘Ken-splaining’. She proceeded to create the most iconic moment of this year's ceremony by adding that Robert Downey Jr. didn't need to paint his abs to get nominated!
Given that Downey ultimately won in the best supporting actor category, this punch proved to be the knockout!
