Over many years, Vikas Khanna has taken Indian cuisine to new levels of fame in New York, significantly shifting the cuisine’s narrative away from just a few North Indian curries. Khanna recently launched his passion project, Bungalow, a flagship restaurant that aims to take diners on a journey through India’s 28 states, with evergreen recipes and reimagined classics. The celebrity chef shared an Instagram reel from the restaurant’s opening day, which saw over 1,000 people queue up on the streets in pouring rain and freezing temperatures! He added that he had never seen such a response in over 40 years of cooking. Bungalow’s second day coincided with Holi, and Khanna organised a regal celebration at the entrance, with a dance troupe grooving to the beats of the iconic Jai Ho, while waving the tricolour.

So, the next time you’re in New York City and craving some Indian food, you know where to go!
