In the age of virtual connections, the art of pen-palship may have faded, but a new, viral friendship is lighting up social media with contagious energy. Recently, BCCI has released a video on Twitter, featuring Virat Kohli talking about the bond he shares with a fellow athlete, who mirrors his zeal for fitness. The unexpected duo of Novak Djokovic and Virat Kohli has blossomed into a formidable friendship, originating from a few exchanged messages in their social media DMs a couple of years ago. Virat spoke about his admiration for Novak’s career and his hunger to succeed in every tournament he plays while also mentioning the Serbian Tennis pro’s messages when Kohli got to his landmark 50th ODI century in November.

“I was just going through Novak’s profile on Instagram and found out that he messaged me so I had to confirm it wasn't a fake profile,” said Kohli, who also spoke about the back and forth the two share on Instagram  — from congratulating each other on milestones and achievements while also bonding over their love for fitness. Kohli wished Djokovic the very best for the Australian Open, hoping to meet him in person, some day, under the same roof.
