Team India’s Diwali celebration was all light and laughter
The Dream 11 and their families turned out in their festive best for an evening of fun and feasting

The Indian Cricket Team had a cute surprise for their fans on Diwali this year. The dream team aka Dream 11 had a festive bash with their better halves in a venue in Bengaluru, where the team was for their match against Netherlands. Our men in blue were in their dapper best, dressed in traditional wear, while their leading ladies dropped some major festive pointers at what seemed like a really fun gathering!
Virat Kohli arrived with Anushka Sharma, while team captain Rohit Sharma was accompanied by his wife Ritika Sajdeh and their little girl.
The video, shared by BCCI, shows fun moments from the bash — Indian Spiderman Shubman Gill turned up twinning with Shardul Thakur, Virat cracking a joke with the team, and more. Coach Rahul Dravid also turned up — looking great in his red silk kurta, if we might add — for the celebrations and all the cricketers of Team India, with their families, posed for a group photo wishing everyone the best of the festive season.
The video was captioned “We are #TeamIndia and we wish you and your loved ones a very Happy Diwali 🪔”, and has 1.9 million views on Facebook in a day.
India are the favourites for the World Cup win this year, and will be playing against New Zealand on November 15 for the semi final match of World Cup 2023.
