Known rightfully as the Masters of Minimalism, Abraham & Thakore have dipped their toes into the world of home decor. Their first homeware collection is inspired by Tussar silk whose beauty lies in its inconsistencies of colour and texture. With the neutral colour palette of black, ivory, clove and beige being their focus, they have incorporated traditional arts like Kantha, embroidery, Bandhani and Ikat. The collection has ceramic and marble crockery, table linen, cushion covers and more.
Rakesh Thakore says, “For us at Abraham & Thakore, luxury does not mean mass standardisation but small quantities that have taken time to produce. The homeware collection is a celebration of individuality, reiteration of Indian craft and the time taken to administer the painstaking task of tying warp and weft and weaving it to create Ikat patterns.”
“We are extremely satisfied with how the collection came out. However, the Nazar marble cheese platter is our personal favourite. The piece which is inlaid with black dots just has one red dot, bringing forth the age-old notion of a disruption in the pattern which wards off evil,” added David Abraham.
