Salman Rushdie is known for not holding back his words, treading through parts which have been untraversed. He brings his scathing honesty to light in his upcoming memoir, Knife: Meditations After an Attempted Murder, recounting the life-threatening knife attack he endured in 2022. Penguin Books unveiled the cover, hinting at how this was a necessary book for Rushdie to write, in order to take charge of the incident and respond to violence with art. The book is a personal account of what happened, 30 years after a fatwa was issued against him. Expected to release in April 2024, the book is open for pre-orders.
