Kendrick Lamar is back with The Heart Part 5 – the fifth track in his Heart series that began in 2010. The 12-year run of songs marks an ambitious project and the newest number is Lamar's first single as a lead artist since 2018.

The track is accompanied by a rather striking music video, directed by Lamar and Dave Free. The video features Kendrick transforming into Will Smith, Kanye West, Kobe Bryant and O.J. Simpson, with the help of deepfakes created by Deep Voodoo. The lyrics go as-

“I come from a generation of pain/where murder is minor

Rebellious and Margielas'll chip you for designer

Belt buckles and clout/ overzealous if prone to violence

Make the wrong turn/be it will or the wheel alignment.”
