Iman Chakraborty has dropped her latest cover, the iconic title track from 2001 hit Dil Chahta Hai. After a cover of Naina da kya kasoor from Andhadhun, this is the singer’s second Hindi cover and the fun music video is all about the beauty of friendship.
The video concept and music arrangement is done by Nilanjan Ghosh, and the video features Iman Chakraborty and her #TeamTogetherness having fun on the streets of Sydney. And the teaser reel on Instagram is truly a representation of what happens when friends get together to have some fun because in her caption, the singer gives the BTS update of the video. The caption reads, “Just like our other songs, this one holds a special place in our hearts. We filmed it using an iPhone during our time in Sydney for a concert. It’s a spontaneous performance…”
Iman’s cover is an almost lo-fi like rendition of the original, and melodious on its own merit. The video shows the natkhat and nostalgic bonding of friends, much like the original.
