Crown, an original tune by Kolkata-based girl group PinNaree, traces the transformative journey one takes from adolescence to adulthood. Its alternative pop sound coupled with mellow undertones and transitions keeps you engaged for the entirety of the song, catching you by surprise ever so often. The crooner's crisp vocals fade into each other seamlessly while the rap adds interesting layers to the soul of the song, making it a wholesome listen.
The four musicians bringing life to PinNaree are Poulami Nag, Srijani Roy Chowdhury, Shreya Shome Chowdhury and Tanushree Bhowmick. They began in 2018 and have since released four original tunes — Time Turner, Rabbit Hole, I Miss, and Summer With You along with a contemporary rendition of Frank Sinatra's Fly Me To The Moon.
“Crown has been written and composed in just 50 hours! Tanushree had a scratch beat in her drafts which set things off. Srijani and Poulami then got to lyric writing and Shreya polished off the beat. We knew that this song deserved to be heard and decided to give it the best chance possible by releasing it globally. We hope this song establishes the four of us as a self-producing group of artists,” smiles the girl gang.
