When you hear the words, jhuro bhaja on a menu, you know you have a feast coming up! Crispy potato and some ghee rice, what could be better? Maybe a Narkeler Jhuro Bhaja. Home chef Riya aka @hyangla_bibi recently shared a recipe on her page that has equal amounts of salt, sweetness and jhaal.
She starts by grating a cup of coconut and mixing it with rice flour, salt, turmeric, sugar and Nigella seeds. Then it’s all about frying it in some mustard oil to watch it transform into a jhuri. If you are a spice lover, rub in a bit of chili for a kick and enjoy with a warm plate of rice.
This happens to be a family favourite of the home chef, who has also grown up relishing it. Her mother and grandfather would make this dish and clearly, it looks like a hit.
