/10 The Apeejay House inaugurated its Christmas tree on December 23. Decorated with huge LED ornaments and star-shaped topper, the 54-foot-tall installation adds to the festive charm of Park Street. The colourful gift boxes around the tree and the statue of a red-cheeked portly Santa will surely make people stop and grin

/10 Park Street knows how to help you deck up for Christmas. The whole street is dotted with curb-side stalls and with vendors selling festive accessories. The quintessential Santa hats (in many different styles) are ubiquitous, but there are also glowing devil’s horns, twinkling tiaras, Minnie Mouse ear headbands and more

/10 (L-R) Tulika, Priya, Priyanjali and Debanjan were searching Park Street for momos. Along the way, they gave in to the lure of festive accessories — with each member of the group sporting something unique. 'We definitely need to have momos, but we keep looking at the lights and getting mesmerised. This Christmas, we’re looking to create memories of a lifetime,' said Priyanjali, a student of Calcutta University

/10 With every corner lit up like a Christmas tree (all pun intended), photo ops are abundant. Pooja Roy and Sohini Das chose Trincas’s neon wings for their frame. 'This is our first time visiting Park Street during Christmas. We came here to do some shopping, but were amazed by the lights,” said Das

/10 Another regular sight at Christmas-time Park Street is the fancy balloons. This year, there were LED-stuffed glowing ones bobbing over heads all over the stretch. These plastic balloons don’t easily deflate and are a constant photo companion throughout the night

/10 The famous Kusum Rolls saw a constant stream of people ordering and collecting orders from the counter. The egg chicken rolls, hot off the tava and seemed to disappear within seconds of being rolled

/10 Every year, Flurys is pretty as a picture come December, and this year was no exception. Decorated with red-and-white candy cane ornaments at the doorway, the old-world charm of this bakery reigns supreme in the hearts of all Kolkatans, and there were many patrons walking in to sample the pastries and chocolates

/10 Kolkata winters may not rankle your bones, but evenings are decidedly chilly and everyone is out in their winter cosies. But then who can stop a child from enjoying their ice- cream, fluffy coat and winter chill notwithstanding. It’s Christmas time after all!

/10 As always, Peter Cat, which was decorated with pretty fairy lights, saw their loyal patrons waiting in a queue to dine in. After all, is a Kolkatan’s winter really complete without a taste of chelo kebab and sizzlers from this nostalgia-laden eatery?
