Former star Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh and Merlin Group managing director Saket Mohta address the media at the launch of the Yuvraj Singh Centre for Excellence (YSCE) at Merlin Rise. The cricketer launched his high-performance training academy in the City of Joy. Yuvraj’s academy is located at Merlin Rise in Rajarhat. Conceptualised by the man himself, YSCE is not just another academy but an integrated 360-degree sports development institute created to be an outstanding base for player development where all players have the maximum possibilities to reach their full potential. YSCE’s out-of-the-box strategy focuses on developing the sporting ecosystem of the country via a multi-faceted approach which includes setting up high quality cricket academies across the country, identifying and supporting technology solutions for the enhancement of the sports, pitch intelligence, character building and events the full understanding of the laws

Commemorating their 30th year celebrations, the officials and performers of Mayur Dance Company are touring India and have performed in Kolkata, Santiniketan and the Triveni Art Gallery and Ghat Sandhya in Varanasi. Performances included ‘Rythms of the World’, ‘Isaya- life force’ and solo performances. Mayur Dance Company is based in Greater Washington DC area. Dancers of Mayur are trained in Odissi. The company’s productions are known for being strongly grounded in the classical discipline, while experimenting with narrative techniques and new genres of music. The company enjoys performing canonical work at venues that celebrate tradition; they have presented at domestic and global events such as the International Odissi Festival in India, as well as conferences in Canada, Singapore, and prestigious venues such as Kennedy Centre and Wolf trap in the US
