On this day, an advertisement for the film Avinetri, featuring Kanan Devi, appeared in Amrita Bazar Patrika, published from Kolkata. The film was about the life of an actress and the difficult choices she faced in pursuing her career. Despite all odds, she returns to the stage.

The film reflected Kanan Devi’s experience in real life. Though she was very popular, she had faced negative reaction from conservative Bengali society after her marriage.
