Weather likely to be dry over Ganga Sagar region during mela

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said no major weather system is expected over Bay of Bengal during January 8 and 17, 2024, that is during the Gangasagar Mela.

Mainly northerly/northwesterly wind is likely to prevail over Ganga Sagar area during the mentioned period.

Weather is very likely to be dry over Ganga Sagar region during the mela. Dense fog is likely to prevail over the region during late night to morning hours (visibility will be reduced to less than 500 metre) during the period. Fog is very likely to improve during day time with a range of 1000-2000 metres.

Daily forecast and warning will be issued twice daily during January 8 and 17, 2024.
