Traffic restrictions around Eden Gardens for India-West Indies T20 matches

Kolkata police commissioner Vineet Kumar Goyal issued a set of rules and regulations for all classes of vehicles and all kinds of traffic, including pedestrian traffic, in connection with the Twenty-20 cricket matches between India and West Indies at Eden Gardens on February 16, 18 and 20.

  • Movement of all types of goods vehicles shall be temporarily restricted / suspended and / or diverted from the roads or road stretches at and around Eden Gardens and Maidan area from 16.00 hrs daily on 16.02.2022, 18.02.2022 and 20.02.2022 till 01.00 hours (next day).
  • Gostha Pal Sarani (Kingsway) will be closed to all types of vehicles from 16.00 hours on
    16.02.2022, 18.02.2022 and 20.02.2022 till dispersal of crowd.
  • Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road) and North Brooke Avenue will be closed to all types of
    vehicles on 16.02.2022, 18.02.2022 and 20.02.2022 as and when considered necessary.
  • Parking of vehicles will be prohibited on both sides of the following roads as and when
    considered necessary
    a) Gostha Pal Sarani, (Kingsway)
    b) Kshudiram Bose Road (Auckland Road)
    c) Govt. Place East
    d) Govt. Place West
    e) Rani Rashmoni Avenue
    f) Old Court House Street
    g) Indira Gandhi Sarani (Red Road)
    h) Guru Nanak Sarani (Mayo Road)
    i) Dufferin Road
  • Buses and mini buses coming from south Kolkata will be diverted
    (i) from Rani Rashmoni Avenue towards Netaji Statue, Govt. Place East, Old Court House Street, B B D Bag and (ii) from JL Nehru Road towards Bentinck Street, Mission Row, Mangoe Lane, BBD Bag
  • Buses and mini buses from north and east Kolkata will be diverted
    (i) from CR Avenue towards Ganesh Ch. Avenue, Mangoe Lane, BBD Bag,
    (ii) from SN Banerjee Road towards Rani Rashmoni Avenue, Govt. Place East, Old Court House Street, BBD Bag
    (iii) from Old Court House Street towards Esplanade Row East, JL Nehru Road for southward journey
  • Motorists from south Kolkata may avail AJC Bose Road, St. Georges Gate Road, Strand Road and find access to BBD Bag area through Kiron Sankar Roy Road towards Council House Street
  • Motorists from north and east Kolkata will enter BBD Bag area through BB Ganguly Street and also from SN Banerjee Road, RR Avenue, Govt. Place East, Old Court House Street
  • Tram services in the BBD Bag, Esplanade, Old Court House Street and BB Ganguly Street and Maidan areas will be regulated as and when considered necessary
  • Vehicular traffic may also be diverted from any of the arterial and feeder roads by traffic police on duty as and when considered necessary
