Ahead of the championship dog show, Calcutta Canine Club president Ajoy Kumar Law had a message for dog owners. “You must remember that winning is not always important. Your dog remains your best friend. Love them, be kind to them and flaunt them at all places. That is the best way to enjoy your time with your pet and have a good time together,” he said.
The Calcutta Canine Club had organized its 85th, 86th and 87th Championship Dog Show (under KCI regulation) at Science City.
The judges for the all breeds and specials were Philip John, Shharat Sharma and K.K. Trivedi. Other than Law, the president, also present were Ashok Chand Laha and Pallav Saha, Sib Shankar Chatterjee, Tapan Basak, Prasanjit Chatterjee, Palash Kumar Ghosh, Sudipta Sankar Bhaduri and Surajit Dey.
“This year we had three very renowned judges — Philip John, Shharat Sharma and KK Trivedi who joined us for the show. We are grateful that they could be a part of the show. It takes a lot of hard work to organise an event of this scale,” Law said.
Resident of DA Block Paula Basak with her pet Percy. “I’m a regular at this show along with my husband. Percy is a five-year-old American Eskimo and we are very proud to bring him here. Every year we come here and meet dog lovers like us. It’s beautiful to watch the dogs and the show that they put up,” she said.
