The Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) will put up all details about repairs or new projects in the city on its website so people can know what work is being done, mayor Firhad Hakim said on Friday.
Hakim said there was a practice earlier of putting up boards informing people about the work. If the details are available on the KMC’s website, people will be able to know about the projects.
The details will be available under a menu called PDL (procurement digital library) of the website https://www. kmcgov.in/KMCPortal/jsp/ KMCPortalHome1.jsp.
“We will put up all details about a work order that is issued. One will be able to see details of how a road is to be built. If that is not followed, the residents can complain,” said Hakim.
“This is part of an attempt to increase the transparency of the KMC.”
The date of beginning and proposed date of completion of a project and the names and contact details of the contractors will be available on the website.
