In an official press release, the institute has stated: “Thus there is an urgent need to upgrade the infrastructure so that IIM Calcutta can retain its competitive edge on the national as also global stage. Hence infrastructure norms like carbon zero, ability to efficiently support and use digital technologies etc. are now essential requirements. In view of the above, the Institute now needs to urgently build new/additional hostel and academic blocks to fulfil its vision and mission, while simultaneously replacing the old hostels.”
