A man lost more than Rs 3 lakh after he came across a Telegram group that promised lucrative payments for liking videos on the Internet. He was sent a link by the admin of the Telegram group. His mobile security was compromised after he clicked on the link and lost the money from his bank account, the police said. Pritam Dhar had lodged a complaint with the Salt Lake cyber crime police station in October. The cops have managed to recover around Rs 1.84 lakh of the stolen amount. Dhar was handed over the recovered sum on Monday.

Supplementary tests introduced in HS

The state higher secondary council will allow a candidate who fails to score 30 per cent (pass marks) in a paper in one semester to write a supplementary test along with the papers of the subsequent semester to clear the backlog. For example, a student who fails to score 30 per cent (pass marks) in a paper in the first semester will get a chance to write a supplementary test along with the second semester papers. A council official said they are introducing supplementary tests like any other semesterised system.
