Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Sunday (14.4.2024)
- Afternoon of 14.4.2024 and 4am to sunrise on 15.4.2024: A large number of devotees, mainly women and children, will assemble at the different ghats of Hooghly for holy dip and prayers
- 3.30pm: IPL Twenty-20 KKR vs LSG 2024 to be played at the Eden Gardens
- 6pm: Procession from 1B Gopal Chatterjee Road and back
Special train
Eastern Railway will run a special train between Howrah and Jalpaiguri. The train will leave Howrah at 11.55pm every Wednesday from April 17 to June 26 to reach NJP at 10.45am the next day. While returning, the train will leave NJP at 12.45pm every Thursday between April 18 and June 27 and arrive in Howrah at 12.10am the next day. "That means 11 trips on each side and 26,000 berths," said the spokesperson for Eastern Railway.
QR codes at toilets
Passengers can now make digital payments while using toilets at Dakshineswar Metro station and making purchases from the shops on the Metro premises. QR codes have been set up at toilets and shops, said a Metro official. "It will save a lot of time," the official said.
