Kolkata police commissioner flags off 17 electric vehicles

Kolkata police commissioner Vineet Goyal flagged off the first batch of 17 eco-friendly electric vehicles on the occasion of World Environment Day on Sunday at the Police Athletic Club.

The city police will take 226 Tata Nexon electric vehicles on lease to gradually phase out 15-year-old diesel-powered vehicles. The cars will be distributed among units of the force, an officer said.
