1/4 Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) was inaugurated on Tuesday at the Netaji Indoor Stadium. Present at the event was chief minister Mamata Banerjee, actors Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi Sinha, former cricketer Sourav Ganguly and director Mahesh Bhatt among others. Dona Ganguly and her dance troop also performed at the event

3/4 Repair work is underway on the second Hooghly bridge. Beginning Tuesday night, two of the three lanes of the Howrah-bound flank will be closed for traffic. Vehicles heading towards Howrah will be allowed to ply on the third lane. The work is expected to be completed in 3-4 months
