Mahadevi Birla Shishu Vihar school celebrated Vasant Panchami on Wednesday. Goddess Saraswati was placed in a pandal designed in the mould of ancient Shyam Rai Mandir of Bishnupur using recycled newspaper with details replicating the ancient terracotta sculptures of historic Bengal. The Dalmadal Cannon, also made of cardboard, was replicated at the entrance. Students, teachers and guardians were present to offer prayers to the goddess

The pandal of Aditya Academy Senior Secondary School, Dumdum, was made out of eco-friendly materials like bamboo, jute and ‘bhnar’. The school won the ‘Shera School Pujo Pandal’ award by JIS Group on Wednesday
