Charak puja, held in honour of Lord Shiva on Chaitra Sankranti or the last day of the Bengali New Year, sees male devotees swing from a pole with hooks attached to their backs. Beadon Square in Kolkata is one of the places where this can be seen

A fair is organised on Beadon Street and almost half a kilometre of the road is closed to traffic for almost a week

Several artisans gather at this fair to sell handicrafts ranging from home decor to toys
